Issue Position: Progressive Economy

Issue Position

I recognize the fundamental truth that the middle class is the cornerstone upon which our economy rests. Every aspect of our society is negatively affected by a middle class that can't afford the products they produce. We can invigorate the middle class by supporting upward mobility, and reducing the perverse incentives that are caused by corporate welfare.

Remove barriers to "upward mobility"

Raise the minimum wage.

End corporate welfare.

The ingenuity of our small businesses and entrepreneurs has always coupled with a strong work ethic to make this American dream a reality for millions. For far too many Americans, working hard and playing by the rules has not been enough to get ahead. We need to make sure that government is supportive of our small businesses and entrepreneurs without getting in the way.

Promote government efficiency and agility.

Leverage the power of the free-market to energize the lower and middle class.

Advance policies that encourage innovation

Eliminate ineffective and duplicative federal programs.'
