Today Ranking Member Henry A. Waxman released the following statement on the Senate Climate Action Task Force's all-nighter on climate change:

"Tonight Senate climate leaders stayed up all night to put climate denial to bed. They explained the severe threats we are facing, the high costs of inaction, and the enormous economic opportunities of investing in clean energy. They showed that there is strong congressional backing for aggressive action by the Administration to protect the planet for our children and future generations.

"Last week, all but three House Republicans voted to deny that climate change is occurring. Tonight, Senate Democrats repudiated science denial and brought public attention to one of the biggest threats our nation is facing.

"I commend them for their leadership, their eloquence, and their commitment."
