U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH) today issued the following statement regarding the fundamental tax reform draft released by Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (D-MI):
"There is no doubt that our current tax code is too complex, too costly, and too burdensome and it makes things more difficult for families and employers. Americans deserve a tax code that works for them -- a tax code that promotes job creation and that is more efficient and effective. I applaud Chairman Dave Camp for his leadership in crafting a tax proposal that moves us forward and for getting us to this point. This is a draft meant to have the push and pull of members of Congress to improve it with the goals of simplifying the code and lowering rates for individuals and employers. I look forward to continuing to work with Chairman Camp and other members to further develop this proposal. This is a debate that we must have and that American taxpayers deserve."
