Bill Johnson Statement on Cuts Made to Medicare Advantage by Obama Administration

Statement

Date: Feb. 22, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Bill Johnson released the following statement in response to the cuts to the Medicare Advantage program announced Friday by the Obama Administration:

"The Obama Administration just announced another round of cuts to the Medicare Advantage program -- a program that over 38,000 seniors across Eastern and Southeastern Ohio rely on. I've heard from physicians across the district who've expressed their concerns over the impact these cuts will have on their practices, and their patients. President Obama famously said "if you like your health plan, you can keep it." Seniors are now finding out that this isn't the case. Nine out 10 enrollees think their Medicare Advantage plans help them live a healthier life. President Obama needs to work with Congress to reverse these burdensome cuts to a program that has proven to work."
