Issue Position

I do not support a national database of gun ownership but I do support tighter control over who buys guns and where. Both privately and as a Police Officer, I have gone through extensive weapons training and gun safety classes. There is an incredible amount of value to such training and some form of gun safety and control should be a requirement for gun ownership. Because it is my opinion that guns do not kill people, people kill people. Guns are simply the tool used, as there are many options.

Gun ownership is a right and that is something I will always support. A person right to protect their family should never be taken away.
