Issue Position: Term Limits

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014

When our country was founded, running for public office was considered a temporary civic duty. Today, our politicians treat it like a gravy train for special interests, lobbyists, and a career outside the private sector. In the 2012 elections, 75% of incumbents were re-elected despite Congress having a 9% approval rating.

We need to return to the ideas of our Founders and since elected officials won't cut themselves off, we need to do it for them by passing a Term Limits Amendment to the United States Constitution that limits Representatives to serving no more than four two year terms and Senators to serving no more than two six year terms. I pledge to serve no more than three terms.
