Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) discussed the escalating violence in Ukraine on MSNBC's Morning Joe.
"This is very concerning. We have a lot of Ukrainian Americans in Ohio and on this issue I've been talking to some folks back home who have relatives there. The United States needs to step up and be counted."
"We need to stand with people who are supporting democracy and freedom, and that is a red line that we have drawn historically."
