Black Statement on Debt Ceiling Vote

Statement

Date: Feb. 11, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Diane Black (R-TN-06) issued the following statement after voting against the debt ceiling hike:

"Our federal government has amassed a staggering $17.3 trillion national debt, but sadly the Democrat majority here in Washington wants to continue business as usual. This is more than disappointing, as our looming debt crisis threatens the security of the nation we leave behind for future generations. Without needed reforms to address the drivers of our debt and deficits, the bill before the House tonight simply gives President Obama a blank check to continue borrowing against our children and grandchildren's future."
