Blackburn Opposes Efforts to Restore FCC's Net Neutrality Rules

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement in opposition to legislation unveiled by Congressional Democrats today that would restore the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) net neutrality rules.

"Believe it or not the Internet has revolutionized the world without a single regulation from President Obama, the FCC, Washington bureaucrats, or Congressional Democrats. If the FCC follows through on President Obama's wishes they will be constructing an Internet Iron Curtain that will restrict our online freedom and serve as an industry job-killer. It's more than ironic that the same Administration that can't figure out how to make Healthcare.Gov work now thinks that regulating the Internet like China and Russia will make things better for American consumers. The worst thing that the FCC could do would be to reclassify every Internet service provider as a common carrier and place them in an outdated 1930's regulatory framework."
