WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (MS-02) released the following statement regarding the extension of federal unemployment benefits:

"I remain seriously concerned about the 1.3 million jobless American's who stand to lose unemployment benefits on December 28, 2013. With Christmas around the corner, I believe that failure to extend these benefits would be turning our backs on these Americans, in their greatest time of need," said Congressman Thompson.
