Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has agreed to his request to investigate the problems that occurred with the roll of healthcare.gov. Senator Casey, along with a bipartisan group of senators, urged the GAO to review the website's troubled launch and make recommendations about steps that can be taken in the future to ensure a problem like this does not reoccur. Casey, a member of the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, has questioned top Administration officials on the website during oversight hearings.

"I'm pleased that the GAO has agreed to analyze the issues that occurred in launching healthcare.gov," Senator Casey said. "I called for this report because Pennsylvanians deserve answers. It's imperative that we have an understanding of the problems with the website launch, as well as the steps the Administration can take moving forward. It's important that Pennsylvanians can access the benefits of this law."
