Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen announced her support for:
the TSA Loose Change Act, which would award unclaimed monies left at airports to charities providing places at various transportation hubs where military families, who have sacrificed so much for our country, can rest and wait during their travels; and
the Transportation Acquisition Security Reform Act, which would improve transparency in technology procurement and provide for "best practices" to be put into effect in order to streamline our airports.
These bills aim to make transportation services more efficient and to make airport waits or potential stays more pleasant for military families who many times face the most stressful situation of any traveler. Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:
"Making our transportation system more efficient and more accessible to the public is something we should always strive to attain. Additionally, working to provide the maximum amount of comfort at the airport, a place not known for its calm and serenity, to military families, who have sacrificed so much, is one small step we can take to repay them for their dedication to our nation. The traveling public deserves nothing less than our best efforts to improve our airports and transportation systems."
