Gov. Neil Abercrombie today announced the release of more than $74.39 million for capital improvement projects (CIPs) that further invest in Hawaii's airports.
"We are making significant investments in our airports that will bring immediate and long-term benefits for the people of Hawaii, ranging from improved facilities and enhanced safety, to increased sustainability and energy savings," Gov. Abercrombie said. "Identified in partnership with state Legislators, these priority projects coincide with the launch of an unprecedented energy efficiency program that will cut energy use at our airports nearly in half, reduce our dependence on imported energy sources, provide savings on future energy costs, and add jobs to our economy."
