Rangel Statement on Camp, Baucus, Hatch Trade Promotion Authority Proposal

Statement

Date: Jan. 9, 2014
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Trade

Ways and Means Subcommittee Ranking Member Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) issued the following statement in response to the Camp, Baucus, Hatch Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) proposal:

"I do not support the TPA bill introduced today. This isn't the right bill, and this isn't the right way to go about passing a bill into law. We need to do much more to improve upon the 2002 TPA bill, including by providing a more meaningful role for Congress, greater transparency, and strengthening U.S. competitiveness."
