Dingell Statement on House Passage of Patent Legislation

Statement

Date: Dec. 5, 2013
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Legal

Today, Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI12) issued the following statement regarding the House of Representatives' passage of H.R. 3309, the Innovation Act:

"I voted in support of H.R. 3309 today because it seeks to address a legitimate issue of great concern, namely patent trolls. The bill is far from perfect, but I feel the magnitude of the problem caused by patent trolls requires that this matter move forward. I will continue working with my Democratic and Republican colleagues in the House and Senate to agree on a final bill that curbs patent trolling in a responsible and fair fashion."
