On Friday, November 8, 2013 at 3:30 p.m., Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) visited Vantage Apparel, where he discussed the importance of manufacturing as an engine of economic growth. Congressman Pallone also discussed the "Make It In America" jobs agenda, which emphasizes bringing manufacturing jobs back to the United States.

"American businesses like Vantage Apparel are reinvigorating our country's manufacturing sector, which is the best way to create jobs that sustain and grow our middle-class now and over the long term," said Pallone. "I've heard from business leaders, labor representatives, entrepreneurs, economists, and other stakeholders that Congress needs to take action in order to help our manufacturing sector grow. I'm hopeful that Republicans will work with us to enact Make It In America legislation and help secure America as the world's leading producer and innovator for years to come."

House Democrats' Make It In America plan focuses on creating the best conditions for American businesses to manufacture their products, innovate, and create jobs right here in the U.S. President Obama has already signed ten Make It In America bills into law, many of which passed Congress with bipartisan support. Leaders in business and labor alike support the Make It In America plan because it will set us on a solid path forward to a future of greater competitiveness, more jobs, and long-term economic success.

For more than 35 years, Vantage Apparel has been a top-ranked brand of identity apparel chosen to promote the names and logos of the country's leading corporations, resorts, golf courses, colleges and casinos. Vantage manufactures and stocks nearly 200 styles of fashion apparel. Pallone met with Vantage Apparel executives and toured the manufacturing operation.

The Make It In America plan for the 113th Congress is focused on four key priorities that can bring about the changes needed to help businesses grow and create jobs here, and which are the most likely to draw bipartisan support. These priorities are central to creating jobs, helping manufacturers produce more goods here, maintaining America's innovation edge, and preparing a highly skilled workforce. Democrats hope that both parties will come together during the 113th Congress to pass additional Make It In America bills so we can grow our economy, put more Americans back to work, and ensure the middle class can Make It In America.
