Chief Deputy Whip Peter Roskam (R-IL) released the following statement responding to Obamacare's individual marketplace exchange enrollment figures:
"The low enrollment numbers in the Obamacare exchanges are one fifth of what was originally expected and it's unclear that these so-called "enrolled individuals' actually purchased a plan. Today's announcement puts even more pressure on President Obama to keep his promise to the American people that if you like your healthcare plan you could keep it. Millions of Americans are being dropped from coverage that they liked and many are seeing their health care costs sky rocket. This week, Republicans and Democrats can come together to honor the president's promise by voting for legislation that allows people to keep their current plans. The American people deserve better than this disastrous rollout and an Administration that continues to defend at all costs an inherently flawed and harmful law."
