Statement

Date: Nov. 27, 2013

Today, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) made the following statement ahead of the Hmong New Year, which is traditionally celebrated during Thanksgiving weekend. Minnesota is home to one of the largest Hmong-American populations in the country.

"It's been a great privilege to work on behalf of Minnesota's vibrant Hmong-American community," said Sen. Franken. "Ahead of the Hmong New Year, I want to thank the community for its important economic and cultural contributions to our state. I deeply value the partnership that we've built, and I look forward to continue working together as we move into the new year."
