Working for South Florida Families, Ros-Lehtinen Supports Research on Preterm Births and Veterans Benefits Increase

Statement

Location: Miami, FL

Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen supports two pieces of legislation that will help improve the lives of South Florida's families. The PREEMIE Reauthorization Act would allow continued research on preterm births in order to save infants' lives and reduce early-delivery and pregnancy-related complications.

The Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2013 would provide a well-deserved and much needed cost of living increase to veterans and surviving family members' benefits. This increase helps veterans and their families adjust their finances to meet rising every day costs.

Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

"I am proud to support important legislation that will help improve the lives of many in our community. South Florida's families deserve nothing less than cutting edge technology when the birth of a child is involved. Additionally, our veterans need access to appropriate benefits. We should always continue to strive to improve the lives of those who need it most."
