One of every seven Texas jobs is connected to agriculture and I have long supported our state's hardworking farmers and ranchers. Agriculture, especially corn, oats, sorghum, and cotton, is one of the leading sources of revenue in Texas' 31st District.

Maintaining sensible and fiscally-responsible farm policy benefitting farmers, consumers, and taxpayers should be the aim of Federal agriculture efforts. I support finding ways to reduce subsidies while ensuring we preserve the viability of domestically-grown food. Research to address farming challenges such as water shortages, emerging diseases and pests, and increasing international competition remains a critical component of agriculture policy.

As a lifelong Texan, I know firsthand the importance of water to our farms and livestock. I support water conservation and water recycling to preserve the long term viability of this essential resource.
