"I am proud to welcome Stevan E. Bunnell on his first day as General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Steve is an impressive addition to the talented leadership team at the Department who work tirelessly to carry out our mission to protect the homeland. I am certain that Steve will be an invaluable resource in advising senior DHS leadership on all significant legal, policy, and operational issues.

His extensive experience in an array of areas central to the mission of DHS, including his work as a senior attorney with the Department of Justice dealing with fraud, international terrorism, computer crime and intellectual property, and international crime control policy, make him immensely qualified for this important position. I am confident that Steve's impressive qualifications will serve him well as he leads over 1,700 lawyers across DHS and its components."
