U.S. Representative Patrick E. Murphy (FL-18) met with U.S. EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe last night during the 5th Annual Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit. Both officials were participating in the Coastal Communities Town Hall and sat down for a half hour discussion prior to the event to discuss solutions to the issues plaguing waterways along the Treasure Coast.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to have met with Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe last night. We spoke at length about the water quality issues in our district. We discussed short-term solutions, such as water farming and filtration, as well as long-term solutions to get water to move south," said Murphy. "Additionally, we talked about EPA's work with the Florida DEP and coordinating ways to improve the health of our waterways. I am pleased that the EPA will be prioritizing this issue."
