Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07), applauded the passage of H.R. 3080, the "Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013," by the U.S. House of Representatives this evening, saying:
"Our Nation's waterways and ports have long been vital to American economic growth and prosperity. In New Jersey waterways and ports support 21,330 jobs and directly contribute $3.4 billion to our state economy. The passage of this water resources and infrastructure reform bill this evening will help strengthen our state economy.
"This bipartisan legislation puts forth common-sense reforms to our federal water infrastructure programs by cutting wasteful bureaucratic red tape, promoting fiscal responsibility, and saving taxpayer dollars. I commend Chairman Shuster and my colleagues on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for their tireless work on this timely and important legislation."
