Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ 07) this morning released the following statement on the one year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy:
"Today marks one year since Superstorm Sandy struck New Jersey and left a path of destruction along the East Coast. This past year has been a tremendous challenge for our state. Hundreds of homes were destroyed and a countless number damaged, thousands were displaced, millions were left without power and many lives were tragically lost.
"We have shown great resiliency and I commend the teams that have worked around the clock this past year to maintain public safety, restore utilities and public works, clean up our neighborhoods and provide assistance to those in need. Together we have made great progress in rebuilding our critical infrastructure, beaches, boardwalks and communities. There is much more work to be done but today we should reflect on how New Jersey and the region have come together over the last year."
