ICYMI: President Obama Appoints Governor O'Malley to Task Force on Climate Preparednes

Statement

Date: Nov. 1, 2013
Issues: Environment

"Maryland is among the states most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, including severe weather and sea-level rise. We have an obligation to do all we can to protect our land, infrastructure, and most importantly our citizens, and to make sure we are safe and prepared. That is why Maryland's Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan includes a comprehensive climate adaptation strategy, and is why I signed an Executive Order last December to make our State more resilient to climate change. President Obama has been a strong leader on emphasizing renewable energy, improving air quality, and mitigating the effects of severe weather. It is an honor to serve on his task force,"
