Democratic 5th District candidate Will Brownsberger today pointed to the record of Peter Koutoujian as evidence his opponent does not share the interests of district voters on gun control.
"We need someone in Congress who's strong on gun control -- Peter Koutoujian is not," Brownsberger said. "When the Massachusetts House voted on a Supreme Court decision recognizing that the Second Amendment protects an individual's civil right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, he was the only candidate in this race to vote yes. And someone who received a B- from the NRA on gun rights is clearly out of touch with the way Massachusetts voters view the issue. Candidates talk a good game on the campaign trail about the need to regulate guns. I am the only candidate to receive an F in the most recent letter rankings from the NRA."
