Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) released a statement after voting against the Republican majority's attempt to shut down the country.

"It is clear to me the Republican Party would like nothing more than to shutdown the government.

Here we had the opportunity to pass a responsible bill voted on by the Senate but House Republicans are forcing one sham vote after another. This is no way to run our country."
