Why should you? Just one more politician-to-be peddling his spiel, right? WRONG.

FOR A CHANGE in government, we need to go back to what the framers of our government originally intended: for a representative to stand for and represent the PEOPLE of the district--not himself.

I propose polling the district directly, be it via town meeting, community events, phone, fax, and the internet during every month throughout the year. If you're like me, you're tired of hearing from politicians ONLY when they're pursuing re-election. I want to know what YOU as an individual, a community and a district want, because it's not my vote--it's YOURS. Make it count! I was asked to run in this election because proper representation is extremely important to me and I'm willing to work to make it happen.

We opened John Morgan Trucking in 2003 and have successfully run our own business in a volatile, cutthroat market. Small business transportation providers and farmers have several disturbing things in common: they do all the work, take all the risk and make just enough profit to survive from year to year. We have to monitor the spending and make MUCH better decisions! It will require fiscal discipline and firm resolve to balance the budget without an additional burden on our state's taxpayers to protect jobs, education, and ensure access to affordable health care.

Through increased--and direct--communication with you, my constituents, I propose to address from the perspective of my community such issues and items as:

*Permanent prohibition of a state income tax
*Enactment and protection of a balanced economic base through responsible fiscal policy
*Reversing the regulation overload on small business and home owners
*Employment, education and health care
*Reduction of the sales tax
*Limiting terms of all offices to a maximum of 10 years
*Hot fuel (the sale of non-degree-compensated--un-cooled-- fuel at the pump, which ends up as less fuel volume in your tank) and several others!

In our history, politicians and diapers have had the same thing in common--they've both needed chancing, often and for the same reason. I hope you will join me in November FOR A CHANGE in that history.
