Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ 07) tonight released the following statement following House passage of three bipartisan proposals to restore critical government services.
"On this second day of the shutdown of the federal government, the House of Representatives moved to reinstate signification federal operations. The House has acted to reopen our national parks and landmarks, fund important health research and allow the District of Columbia to secure our Nation's Capital.
"The House is working to solve this government shut down. These measures are urgent, bipartisan priorities that I call on the Senate to pass into law immediately."
H.J. Res. 70, H.J. Res. 71 and H.J. Res. 73 are resolutions that follow recent House action to ensure timely compensation to military personnel. That measure passed in the Senate and was signed into law by the President.
