Kline: It's Time for Senate to Treat Americans Fairly

Statement

Date: Sept. 30, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Minnesota Congressman John Kline issued the following statement after supporting H.J.Res. 59, legislation that passed the U.S. House of Representatives tonight with a strong bipartisan vote. H.J.Res. 59 will keep the government running while delaying the ObamaCare individual mandate for one year and eliminating the exemption for members of Congress, the President, and Administration appointees:

"The House has voted for a third time to keep the government running and protect Americans from the President's fatally-flawed health care law, while the Senate and White House sit idly by refusing to compromise. This summer, the President delayed for one year ObamaCare's employer mandate for businesses. I was pleased to support legislation today that protects Minnesota families from ObamaCare as well. This is about fairness. It's time for the Senate to treat Americans fairly, follow the lead of the "People's House,' and listen to the will of their constituents."
