Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement regarding the report released today by the Obama Administration that shows costs for health insurance premiums could nearly triple for many Tennesseans.

"The report released by the Department of Health and Human Services today showing that health care costs will skyrocket for a majority of Americans under the Obamacare exchanges is simply breathtaking. The President promised that his health care law would lower insurance costs, yet some Americans could see premiums increase by as much as 400% due to Obamacare. It's no wonder more than half of all Americans are now opposed to President Obama's disastrous health care law.

"This is exactly why I have been fighting to delay, defund, repeal and replace Obamacare. It is simply not fair that individuals and families across Tennessee must continue to pay the price for President Obama's broken promises." A 27-year-old male nonsmoker in Nashville can currently pay as little as $41 a month for their health care policy. According to the report released today that same individual will pay $114 a month for the lowest-cost option in the new federal health exchanges. That is nearly triple the cost.
