Payne Statement on Washington Navy Yard Shooting

Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. released the following statement today on the shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., which has left at least 12 dead:

"My thoughts are with the victims and all those affected by the Washington Navy Yard shootings today. It is tragic that the men and women of our Armed Forces fight in battle overseas and then face unthinkable, deadly violence here at home. We continue to pray on behalf of those injured during this horrific event, and my special condolences are extended to those who were killed and the families mourning the death of their loved ones."
