On September 17, 1787 our United States Constitution was adopted at the Constitutional Convention. Since 2004, we observe and honor the now 226-year old document that shaped our Country. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement:
"Today, we celebrate the world's longest surviving Constitution. Our country is young, relatively speaking, and yet we are the world's oldest persevering democracy. Our Founding Fathers understood that limited government and more individual freedoms would be the fundamental building block for one nation, under GOD, with liberty and justice for all.
I am proud to be an American and honored to be your Representative. With your help, I will continue to lead the charge and protect every facet of our Constitution from those who wish to destroy our freedoms.
