Rep. Maloney Cheers Pres. Obama's Decision to Seek Congressional Approval Before Deploying Military Strike on Syria

Location: New York, NY

Following President Obama's announcement today that he intends to seek congressional approval prior to undertaking any military action against Syria, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (NY-12) issued the following statement:

"I applaud President Obama's decision to seek congressional approval for the possible use of military force against Syria. Bashar Assad's attack against his own people using poison gas is morally reprehensible. I welcome the opportunity to engage in a reasoned, fact-based debate about the most appropriate actions to take at the earliest possible opportunity. In the meantime, I will continue to closely monitor the situation."
