Governor Bryant Proclaims Day of Service and Remembrance to Mark 12th Anniversary of 9/11

In honor of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and in tribute to those who rose in service to respond, Gov. Phil Bryant has called on Mississippians to observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (7:46 a.m. Central Daylight Time) and has proclaimed September 11, 2013, as a voluntary day of service and remembrance. Additionally, Gov. Bryant has ordered United States and Mississippi flags to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Wednesday

"We will never forget the tragedies that took place on our American soil or those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on 9/11. We also remember the heroic acts of the many Americans who served those in need. Deborah and I will pray for those who lost loved ones during this tragedy and for those in uniform who continue to keep us safe."
