Senator Tim Scott Commemorates Anniversary of September 11th Attacks

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) made the following statement marking the 12th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks.

"The attacks of September 11th marked one of the darkest days in our nation's history. However, out of that tragedy grew compassion, courage, and resolve in the face of incredible challenges.

"Today, we honor the victims and heroes of 9/11 and celebrate the sense of community and love of country that was affirmed in the aftermath of the attacks. The first responders who risked their own lives to protect their communities and save total strangers still inspire us all.

"I hope all Americans take the time to remember and honor those who lost their lives, as well as the heroes who risked everything to prevent an even greater tragedy. Though the attacks were horrific, they also helped to remind us of what makes our country great and give us hope that our best days are still to come."
