Newsletter: Upcoming Mobile Office Hours; Protecting Veterans, Taxpayers, and Students

Statement

Date: Aug. 6, 2013

Dear Neighbor,

I want you to know how I've been working for you on behalf of Florida's 15th Congressional District both here in Florida and in Washington, D.C.

H.R. 313, the Government Spending Accountability Act, passed the House of Representatives. This bill limits and requires agency-head approval for federally-funded conferences. When Veterans are waiting for benefits they sacrificed to earn, taxpayers should not be subsidizing VA employee golf outings.

I voted to protect taxpayers and students. This is a market-based approach for Stafford (both undergraduate and graduate) and PLUS student loans and only affects new student loans; student loans that have already been obtained will not be affected.

On Tuesday, August 13, my office will host mobile office hours in Plant City, Brandon, Lutz, and Temple Terrace. If you need help with a federal agency, please stop by!

As always, please continue to write, call, and email your opinions to my office. I could not effectively represent you in Congress without the advice of my constituents. It is an honor and a privilege to serve you in Congress.

Your Congressman,
Dennis A. Ross
