Today, Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI12) denounced House Republicans' 40th attempt at repealing the Affordable Care Act, taking to the House floor to call on the majority to focus on more pressing matters facing the nation, including working to pass a budget and comprehensive jobs legislation.

"Instead of tackling the pressing issues of this great nation, House Republicans are wasting both the time and money of the American people," said Dingell. "Today, the House considered their 40th failed attempt at repealing a law that is already doing great good, expanding care, and protecting the lives and livelihoods of our American families. In Michigan's 12th Congressional district alone, the Affordable Care Act is putting millions of dollars back in the pockets of working families, expanding access to care and free preventive services, and ensuring that our children and seniors are protected from denial of care and undue increases in prescription drug prices. House Republicans should be ashamed of their misguided and harmful agenda."

Dingell instead used the 40th repeal vote as an opportunity to announce a comprehensive Affordable Care Act Guidebook to help 12th District residents better understand the law and make it work best for them. Dingell released the guidebook on the front page of his website, as well as in an email to subscribers.

"I am proud to announce the release of our Affordable Care Act Guidebook, which is a thorough and valuable tool that my constituents can use to understand what the new health care law means for individuals, families, and small businesses throughout our district," added Dingell. "As this comprehensive law is implemented, I will see to it that the people of the 12th district are updated, informed, and have all the tools they need to make the best decisions for their families and small businesses."
