Ros-Lehtinen Votes in Favor of Bills Delaying Obamacare Employer and Individual Mandates

U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) made the following statement today after voting in favor of two bills to delay major portions of Obamacare -- the Authority for Mandate Delay Act and the Fairness for American Families Act. The bills would delay for a year penalties for certain business employers who do not offer health insurance coverage according to Obamacare guidelines and would also delay the application of the individual health insurance mandate. Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

"Since the passage of Obamacare, we have heard constant complaints from individuals, families, and businesses who have been struggling to comply with the health care law's onerous regulations. Individuals are watching their premiums increase and employers have been forced to cut jobs and switch to part-time workers in order to stay in business.

"With the administration's abrupt decision to delay implementation of the employer mandate, we see that even the President knows his health care law is confusing and poorly constructed. The implementation of Obamacare has been bungled at every opportunity and it is clear the law is not the answer for America's health care system. I am proud to vote for legislation that will delay this nightmare of a law until it can be fully and finally repealed."
