Every week, we learn more about IRS harassment of the President's political opponents. Despite the ongoing scandal, the Administration wants to expand IRS power by making it the enforcement wing of Obamacare. In response, the House passed the Keep The IRS Off Your Health Care Act, which would stop the IRS from assuming its new powers.
The IRS is the worst, but far from the only, example of out of control government in the Obama era. Other bills we passed as part of Stop Government Abuse Week would limit bonuses for senior federal bureaucrats, put government employees under investigation on unpaid leave, and require Congressional approval of any major new regulations. We held these votes because we know far too many people in Washington have forgotten they work for the taxpayers, not the other way around.
I work for the people of Mississippi, not Washington insiders, and one of the best parts of the job is the opportunity to spend time listening to you. As part of that mission, we are holding a town hall meeting in Columbus on August 22nd where I'll be answering your questions. You can also follow all of our August activities oninstagram, twitter, and facebook. Thank you for your support, and please continue to always keep me informed of the issues important to you and your family.
Stay in touch and God bless,
