Weber Votes to Stop Government Abuse

Statement

Date: Aug. 2, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

This week the House voted on a series of bills that would reduce waste, fraud and abuse within the Federal government. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement:

"The recent revelations that IRS officials abused their power and targeted conservative organizations has shed the light of day on the immense power federal bureaucrats, from hundreds of different agencies, have over matters small and large today. When these officials abuse their power and waste tax dollars, liberty is eroded, the economy is slowed, and the rule of law is betrayed.

I am committed to restraining runaway government and empowering citizens. This week, I voted for pieces of legislation that will help in the effort to stop government abuse."
