Senator Kilmer always made his first priority creating jobs. I believe this is still are top priority as we get out of this stubborn recession. I have two consistent job creation priorities. First, we need to focus on small businesses because they are the backbone to this economy. Second, we need special attention for our veteran-owned businesses. We need to make sure these businesses have access to state contracts and services. I will also work to ensure technical and career training investments are made. Technology is rapidly encroaching on many traditional jobs. We need to ensure that displaced workers have access to training on the next generation of technology and that we are preparing our youth for the next frontier of technology. If we do not work to provide access to education in all forms, we risk leaving our citizens behind especially in this global economy.
