Price Responds to Jobs Report

Congressman Tom Price, M.D., responded to the release of the June 2013 jobs report of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, saying:

"Today's jobs report is yet another painful reminder of the failures of this administration to put job creation and fiscal correction at the center of its policies. Instead, President Obama is imposing through executive fiat regulations that will raise energy costs for families and will destroy hundreds of thousands of American jobs. It is a shame that he has chosen to put his own political agenda ahead of the welfare of the American people.

"Moreover, nearly half of all unemployed workers in America today are under the age of 34. So many are drowning in student loan debt. Thanks to Democrat inaction, the interest rates on student loans have doubled this week, saddling more financial burdens upon America's young workers. House Republicans passed a plan to keep these rates from doubling. Senate Democrats simply did nothing.

"At what point does the White House admit that its policies simply aren't working? How many more Americans must lose their jobs or leave the workforce all-together? It's past time for real leadership that puts people ahead of politics, economics ahead of agendas and America's workers and families first."
