Camp Votes to Open Offshore Drilling Resources, Lower Energy Prices and Create Jobs

Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Dave Camp (R-Midland) released the following statement in support of H.R. 2231, the Offshore Energy and Jobs Act. The legislation ends moratoriums for domestic energy drilling to lower gas prices and create American jobs.

"This bill is one step toward making North America energy independent and will create over one million jobs. We need an all of the above energy strategy that encourages developing American oil and natural gas resources to help lower American's gas and energy bills. The energy plan the president announced earlier this week will increase energy costs and destroy jobs at a time when Americans are already paying more at the pump and seeing stagnant wages at work."
