Congressman Joe Kennedy released the following statement today in response to the President's proposals to combat climate change, outlined this afternoon at Georgetown University.
"The risks of inaction on climate change are steep. Failure to substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions and move our country towards cleaner forms of energy will cripple our environment, economy and the health of our citizens for generations to come. The plan outlined by President Obama today is a forward-thinking approach to cleaning up our natural resources, promoting American-made energy, and creating strong, middle class jobs across the country. I applaud his leadership and urge Congress to be a partner in these efforts, not an adversary."
