Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's First District released the following statement today on President Obama's announcement of a new climate action plan:
"I applaud the President's leadership on tackling climate change," said Congresswoman Titus. "This is an issue we cannot ignore. Our nation and Nevada in particular will benefit from moving forward on a path to a sustainable, clean energy future. More than 150,000 Southern Nevadans, including nearly 30,000 children, suffer from asthma and are at risk from smog and poor air quality. I agree with the President's agenda to curb carbon pollution, reduce emissions from vehicles, and continue the development of solar, geothermal, and wind energy on our vast public lands. By investing in clean, renewable energy we can create good paying jobs here at home, strengthen our economy, and build a healthier, more sustainable future for the next generation."
