In the wake of the gruesome facts uncovered during the trial of late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell, U.S. Rep. Billy Long today voted in support of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation which bans abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, which scientific research shows is the time when the child begins to feel pain.

"Physicians in the medical community have discovered that an unborn child can feel pain by at least 20 weeks after fertilization. Many Americans were horrified by the brutal acts and information that came out of the trial of convicted murderer and late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell. This legislation is vital to protect mothers and children from another Kermit Gosnell," said Long, an original cosponsor of the bill.
