Congressman Tom Price, M.D. (GA-06), voted today in favor of H.R. 1797, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation that would outlaw abortions of unborn children 20 weeks and older. He is a co-sponsor of this bill.
Dr. Price responded to the bipartisan passage of H.R. 1797, saying:
"The recent revelations in the Gosnell case put the practice of late abortions in a whole new light. What the nation witnessed was an horrific and moral outrage as the viability of unborn children was mercilessly snuffed out. As a physician, I was privileged to join the majority of Americans in favor of passage of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
"We urge the U.S. Senate to heed the will of the American people and take this legislation up immediately. We call on President Obama to abandon his previous position of safeguarding access to late abortions and, instead, sign these vital protections into law."
