Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks (R-IN) released the following statement today after voting in favor of the "Student Success Act" during its markup in the House Committee on Education and the Workforce:
"The Student Success Act gives states and local school corporations the freedom to pursue policies that meet the needs of their students without overbearing interference from Washington. It does so without sacrificing our commitment to high expectations and equal educational opportunities for all students. I support this effort and was proud to vote in favor of sending this bill to the House Floor."
The Act was approved by the committee and now moves to the House Floor for full consideration.
