Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after President Obama nominated the National Economic Council's Deputy Director Jason Furman to lead the White House Council of Economic Advisers:
"In choosing Jason Furman to lead his Council of Economic Advisers, President Obama has selected a brilliant public servant who will continue to bring great dedication to creating policies that will grow our economy. As the major architect of many of the Obama Administration's economic achievements, Mr. Furman possesses an established expertise in the economic issues vital to American families.
"Following in the footsteps of Alan Krueger is no easy task, but Jason Furman has earned the trust of the President, the confidence of his colleagues, and the respect of economic leaders who will work with him to help navigate our country into a strong, vibrant, and resilient economic future. We look forward to working with him to find long-term solutions that meet our challenges, reach our goals, and help move our country forward."
